Barton's house, also known as Casa Coatl, is the result of three years of competent construction by an American owner, an Italian architect and Maya construction crew. All have extensive construction experience. The result is a comfortable, ergonomically correct home.
This titled property is located at the southwest corner of region 9, two km from the center of Tulum town along a new wide avenue. Located next to a pretty little smiling cenote with a coconut palm, the 10 by 26.5 sq meter lot is surrounded by a vista Maya wall fence made of stone and hardwood. A large steel and wood front gate leads to the parking area while another palapa covered door leads to the cenote park.
The fully landscaped gardens include flowing plants and edible vegetables. The pathway splits, with one leading to the front patio and door to lower level, the other leading to the outside stairway and the upper level palapa with loft.
The lower level offers a front patio with mosaic tile and hand cement artistry adorning the support column. Inside, large and high windows insure bright light and good ventilation. Multi panel hardwood doors and encasements are varnished with nogal. The bathroom has colored glass block below the window along with a sunken shower tub.
Upstairs the screened-in palapa is supported by cement columns along with varnished hardwood. There is a cute ship style half bathroom with wood shutter screened window. The sundeck with sunset view has an outside shower and lower faucet. Colorful mosaic tile floors display a handsome spiral design. The third floor loft is made of hardwood planks, offering a sunrise view and is incredible for undisturbed, deep sleeping.
The back yard has a mosaic tile patio and green grass lawn surrounded by gardens. Currently the built construction amounts to about 125 sq meters. Plans are available for an additional master bedroom with large closet. These plans also include a second bedroom and kitchen on the second level with a third floor rooftop grill, sundeck and little palapa.
Flexible plans enable the buyer to have two separate homes or one large home with enclosed stairway. This allows the buyer to create what is needed with minimal construction costs. The property is extremely clean. No construction materials were buried or built into the home and there are four quartz crystals placed inside the four outside walls. Built with double strength rebar columns, cement and palapa awnings, the home stands up to all kinds of weather... staying cool in the hot sun and dry in the hard rain.
The home is currently powered by a generator although federal electricity is nearby, or a solar panel system can easily be installed. Built with love and care,
all water and electricity systems function in a eco-responsible manner. Priced to sell fast because current owner enjoys building and is excited to build his next home in Tulum.
